Manny Pacquiao VS Miguel Cotto fight is set this coming November 14, 2009 in Las Vegas. This is one of the most anticipated boxing matches of the year as their promoter officially announced the official schedule.
Pacquiao vs. Cotto is a great fight. Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, while Cotto, the WBO welterweight champion, is a real threat to him. The biggest of the sticking points was the catchweight for the fight, which will be at 145 pounds. That means that Cotto's welterweight title will be on the line, but Pacquiao's light welterweight championship will not.
Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 knockouts) has beaten the likes of Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Marco Antonio Barrera and Ricky Hatton makes him to be recognized as the boxing's top pound-for-pound fighter.
Cotto (34-1, 27 KOs) owns the WBO belt and defended it in June with a compelling split-decision victory over Joshua Clottey. Cotto's only loss is to Antonio Margarito, who had his boxing license suspended one fight later after being found with hardened inserts containing plaster in his gloves before a bout.
